Miley Cyrus, Crazy Or Genius?

Over the years, viewers have watched, as Miley Cyrus morphed into super-stardom, as the singer is no stranger to the spotlight. But we pose the question are all of her media outbursts a cry for help or is she clandestinely a genius mastermind? Let’s look at the facts…

Being the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley wasn’t born into your average family, but rather than ride his celebrity she has certainly paved her own way in Hollywood. Miley Cyrus became a pop culture phenomenon staring in her breakout role for the Disney Channel sitcom Hannah Montana from 2006 - 2011. Teens garnered everything from albums, to posters you name it... if it was branded Hannah Montana it sold out. I recall one year walking through Walmart she even had her own Easter eggs! However, two other female artists broke out on the Disney Channel during that era; the talented Demi Lovato (Camp Rock) and equally talented Selena Gomez (Wizards of Waverly Place).

All three artists made a name for themselves in their own way, but speculators could not help but notice the similarities…All three stars were in their late teens, beautiful, and had a trifecta of talents from acting to dance and music. How do you make a name for yourself when you are forced into this bubble? Growing up Miley Cyrus idolized strong women in music such as Dolly Parton, Joan Jet, and Madonna. According to an article from People Magazine she was quoted saying “Madonna always reinvents herself, and that’s what I want to do.”

"I'm not trying to replicate her or be her, but we're standing for a similar freedom," Cyrus said. "It's even easier for me than I'm sure it was for Madonna. So I think it's going to get easier and easier, as generations go on, women are going to be more accepted to be free and embrace sexuality." - Yahoo

Therefore, while many felt her antics were crazy or signs of an underlining disorder I believe that she secretly a genius! All of her wild antics, insane performances and risque wardrobe choices were the decisions of a very clever mastermind choosing to break out of the Disney bubble and into a strong, beautiful performer that Can’t Be Tamed!
